Last season at the Hawthorns the sides drew 1-1, with Daniel Sturridge’s 24th-minute opener being cancelled out by Victor Anichebe midway through the second period.

It is the only Premier League draw between the teams. The Reds have an excellent record at the Hawthorns, however, winning nine of the last 12 fixtures, scoring 29 and conceding eight. 26 of those goals have come in the last 10 visits.

The last time the teams played out a goalless draw at the Hawthorns was in November 1968.
The 6-0 victory on this ground in April 2003 is Liverpool’s biggest ever league win over Albion.

The Baggies ended a run of three successive defeats last weekend when Tony Pulis’ side won 2-0 at his former club, Crystal Palace – James Morrison and Craig Gardner scored the goals.

They now go into this game eight points above the relegation zone in 13th place.
West Brom have lost their last two home games, both against teams below them. They were beaten 4-1 by Queens Park Rangers and then 3-2 by Leicester City.
