This could be a huge victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium as it moves the Reds within 2 points off 4th spot. Setting up a must win game on Sunday the 22 nd of March against Man U.

Worth noting:

Liverpool have taken 32 points from 12 PL games, 10 more than Chelsea in that period (from 11 games) since Christmas.

Liverpool equal the club record of 6 successive away clean sheets in the league. Previously achieved in 1965-66 and 1971-72.

Man of the Match:
Simon Mignolet, made a good solid contribution to the game with a number of fine saves. His has improved 10 fold from the start of the season. Mignolet excelled making two terrific first-half stops. Other performances worth a mention was Joe Allen with a solid contribution in midfield Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho were both solid as rocks in the hart of the Reds defense.

Goal of the Match:
Henderson’s somewhat lucky strike gave Liverpool the much-needed 3 points. We came so close on two occasions with efforts from SAS

Miss of the Match:
Sorry to say but it goes to Sturridge, he was unlucky and his effort did hit the post after he curled it around the keeper.

@BBCMOTD2 : Rodgers: “Second half we were outstanding. First half we were nowhere near the standard. It’s complex system that we’re playing, the 343. “We became a diamond and became a 343 in a different format. Outstanding mentality from the players.

This tactical change did put a stop to Ki Sung-Yeung and Jonjo Shelvey who in the first half were enjoying the freedom of the midfield; no longer was Wayne Routledge runing a mock. The RED's go into Sunday’s pivotal clash with Man United just two points off  4th and, surprisingly, just four points off Manchester City in second.

It goes without saying every game is a must win for Rodgers Reds’ , but this victory showed the Reds fans that we do have the options to rebuild and challenge
